On September 16-17, 2020, an International scientific and practical conference “Distance Education: New Challenges of a Global Scale” was held on the basis of the L. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. The dialogue of the participants took place at a plenary session and within the work of 5 sections, workshops, virtual sessions, seminars and master classes in the format of webinars. The list of over 300 participants included representatives of the academic community, undergraduates, PhD students from Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, USA, India, Belgium, Spain and Great Britain, as well as representatives of the partner organizations, such as Cisco and Microsoft.
The members of the Jean Monnet Chair “European Diplomacy” R. Tashtemkhanova and Zh. Medeubayeva took part in the work of the first section “Methods and forms of organizing educational activities in the implementation of educational programs using DLT”. They presented a report, which coveredthe innovative methods of teaching disciplines of the Chair. According to their opinion, a special role belongs to the “inverted classroom” technology, which has become widespread in educational institutions of the developed countries and is actively used in the organization, as well as in the educational process in the context of the coronavirus pandemic and related distance learning.
As a result of the conference, two volumes of the conferenceproceedings have already been published. The article “Innovative Methods in Distance Teaching of the Disciplines of the Project Jean Monnet Chair. European Diplomacy” by R. Tashtemkhanovaand Zh.Medeubayevawas published in the first volume of the conference proceedings.
