International scientific webinar “European diplomacy in the context of the evolution of the EU institutional system”

March 24, 2020 an international webinar with the participation of representatives of L.Gumilyov  Eurasian National University (Kazakhstan), Uzhgorod National University (Ukraine), Institute of Public Opinion (Slovakia), Institute for Euro-Integration Studies (Ukraine), Research Institute of Migration and Demography (Ukraine) was held. The organizer was Uzhgorod National University. The webinar consisted of three scientific events: an international seminar “European diplomacy in the context of the evolution of the institutional system”, which was conducted by the project team “Jean Monnet Chair. European Diplomacy ” of the Faculty of International Relations of  L.N. Gumilyov ENU  jointly with Ukrainian and Slovak colleagues,  the Internet conference “Migration policy of Ukraine in the context of globalization: experience in modern risk management”. Also the book “Shakarim” written by Professor, the rector L.N. Gumilyov ENU E. Sydykov and translated into Ukrainian language by professor P. Tokar was presented.

In the framework of the international seminar “European diplomacy in the context of the evolution of the institutional system” members of the project team “Jean Monnet Chair. European diplomacy ” within the framework of Erasmus + the European Commission shared their visions of the problem. Project Coordinator, Acting professor of the Department of International Relations of L.N. Gumilyov Zhanar Medeubaeva  noted in her speech that the current difficult geopolitical situation in the world, crisis phenomena in Europe itself affect the scale and possibilities of European diplomacy.  Nevertheless the EU is trying to implement ambitious goals and objectives aimed at ensuring universal security and sustainable development in the zone of its interests. The issues of academic diplomacy of the EU in Kazakhstan were presented in the report of the professor of the Department of Regional Studies of L.N Gumilyov ENU Raikhan Tashtemkhanova. The report of Raikhan Zhanbulatova, a doctoral student of L.N Gumilyov ENU, a member of the project team, was devoted to the EU institutional practice in the field of cross-border cooperation.
