On December 21, 2021, a member of the project team Kenzhalina G.Zh. took part in the International Conference “Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) of the European Union. Middle East and Iran ”, organized by Allame Tabatabai University.
The conference was held online. The conference was attended by representatives of academic and scientific communities from different countries (Belgium, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Syria, Turkey, North Macedonia, Syria, Ukraine), who made presentations on the EU’s CFSP in the Middle East and Iran.
Kenzhalina G.Zh. made a presentation on “European Union soft power in the Middle East and Iran.” The purpose of the report was to study the advancement of the EU soft power model in relation to the countries of the Middle East and Iran. First, the report explored the conceptual basis of soft power. Second, the EU’s contribution to good governance, democracy, economic prosperity and security for successful cooperation in the Middle East and Iran. In the third part, conclusions were presented that assessed the results and trends of the EU soft power policy. The study showed that the EU’s attention and involvement in the Middle East and Iran had increased, and that the EU had the ability to influence developments in the region and, therefore, had significant soft power vis-à-vis these countries.
In general, the international conference ended successfully, the reports of the participants aroused great interest among the audience.
